Kimberley Gail Brown

Kim has served with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol since 2001 and is currently stationed in Lexington, NC. She is a native of Wilkes County and a 1997 graduate of Appalachian State University, where she obtained a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. Kim enjoys all outdoor activities and sports. Kim has been a proud member of the Caisson unit since 2006.


John W. Collins

John has served with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol since 2001. Married to his wife, Dori; they have 3 children, Tyler, Kayleigh and Macy. A native of Surry County, John and his family currently reside in Apex, NC. He serves the Special Operations Division, working with the Collision Reconstruction Unit. John is a 2001 graduate of Appalachian State University, where he earned a bachelor degree in Criminal Justice. John has been competing in Triathlons since 2006 and recently became a Den Leader with the Cub Scouts. John has been a proud member of the Caisson Unit since 2011.


Franklin Kemp Crumpler

Kemp has served with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol since 1987. Married to his wife Margaret, they have two children and two grandchildren. His home and current duty station is Raeford, NC. Kemp has an Associate Degree in Funeral Services and is licensed in North Carolina. He got his first horse when he was 10 years old; he also is a pilot and a certified scuba instructor. Kemp has been a proud member of the Caisson Unit since 2006.


Daniel R. Lane

Daniel has served with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol since 2005. Married to his wife Ashley, they reside in Burke County. Daniel is a native of Morganton and is currently stationed there. He is a 2004 graduate of Lees McRae College with a bachelor degree in Criminal Justice. He got his first horse, Joker, when he was 6 years old. Daniel participated in Junior Rodeo and Barrel Racing; and, assisted in training Tennessee Walking Horses. Prior to his position with the Patrol, Daniel was a Teacher’s Assistant with the Burke County School System. Daniel has been a proud member of the Caisson Unit since 2009.


Brett S. Norton

Brett has served with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol since 2007. A native of Alamance County, Brett is currently stationed in Burlington, NC. He is a 2005 graduate of Western Carolina University, earning a bachelor degree in Emergency Management. Brett has been in public service since 1998; serving EMS/Fire Services and 911 Communications at WCU and Alamance County. In addition, Brett served as a Hazmat Safety Oversight Supervisor in New Orleans, LA, post Hurricane Katrina. Brett has been a proud member of the Caisson Unit since 2011.


Katherine Roberts Walsh

Katherine has served with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol since 2007 and is current stationed in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born in Raleigh, NC; attended Appalachian State University, graduating in 2002, where she earned a Bachelor Degree in Health Promotions. Katherine’s riding experience first began in 1990 and she obtained her first horse in 1994. Katherine is versed and experienced in English and Western riding, showing, team roping and stable management. Katherine has been a proud member of the Caisson Unit since 2008.
